Hi Terry,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you - I've been trying to get in
contact with the EDeAN secretariat to confirm what exactly the constraints
upon the NCC's are with regard to activities around the upcoming Framework 6
Programme. Firstly, thanks for bringing this to everyones attention - the
programme is one of the first opportunities for funding from the European
Union recently and organisations etc, will be jumping all over it.

As a suggestion - it may be useful to organise an information day or half
day over the next few weeks. This could be an opportunity for people to
share information around the proposal and maybe to establish partnerships
around particular project ideas.

CRC would be happy to host such an event - maybe people could suggest
possible speakers/dates etc.,

On a final piece of news - the National Contact Centre's for EDeAN are
meeting next week in Brussels to agree on a Structural Document outlining
the functions and activities of the Network, Dr. Bob Allen will be attending
to represent the Irl-DEAN and will relay information back to me next week -
I'll circulate this next week.

Talk soon

Bryan

Hello

Another Framework Programme Six (FP6) IST (Information Society Technologies)
Call for Proposals is expected in Mid June 03 with a submission deadline of
Mid October 03 for projects to start in spring 04.
One of the areas likely to be covered by the call is e-Inclusion. See
http://www.cordis.lu/ist/
You will have to do some digging to find out about the work programme and
procedures.
This may provide an opportunity for some of us.
Perhaps EDeAN will make a bid on behalf of this network nodes.
Any ideas, Brian on how to tackle this opportunity? Everybody do their own
thing is the default, I suppose.

Terry Turner
