Dear All -

Yesterday, 16 Feb 2005, I circulated an invitation to participate
in a stakeholders need survey relating to the development of a
web accessibility certification scheme in Europe.

During the day it became apparent that there was a significant
technical problem with the site. It is an obscure problem, which
only affects certain users, and, as yet, we have identified no
pattern to this. (The survey had been tested successfully by
sample users right across Europe during the previous week.)

The site administrators are actively working to resolve the
issue. In the meantime, my sincere apologies if you attempted to
access the survey but were unsuccessful. We do greatly value and
appreciate all interest in this project.

One point of clarification: some people have expressed concern
that this project might be side-stepping or otherwise undermining
the activities of the W3C in web accessibility. On the contrary,
the project have a core requirement to be built upon all relevant
W3C recommendations, is working in close collaboration with W3C
WAI Working Groups, and we hope will actually make a positive
contribution back to ongoing work on accessibility in W3C.

Best regards - Barry.
