I should add that CFIT carry out audits and user tests on a paid
professional basis. We do not actively look for work and have a policy
of not responding to RFTs, but sometimes organisations approach us
directly and we agree a programme of work with them. At other times we
are subcontracted by consultancies to do the accessibility auditing
and/or user testing part of a larger Web development job.
Because we are not a commercial entity, our aim is to do only as much
paid accessibility work as we need to keep current and keep up our skill
levels. In the future we hope to start up some funded projects within
Ireland where we will provide these accessibility services as part of a
general awareness raising campaign to grow the market for accessibility
services within Ireland. If this comes about, we may cease doing
commercial work altogether, but for the moment it fits our aims and
objectives to keep providing this service.
