Hi Mark,
It sounds very interesting, let me know if we can help. We may be able to find some users from the CRC as well who would like to participate, so let me know when you have a better idea how to proceed.
Here are a few thoughts on where to hold it:
1. a computer lab
2. a hotel or other public space with wireless access
3. facilities already equiped with AT (eg. University AT facilities such as UCD or TCD AT rooms)
Of the above, options 2 and 3 would be the best. It may be more difficult in terms of equipment, but holding it in a public area (option 2) might encourage more people to attend. However option 3 would probably be that bit easier to organise.
Any other thoughts?
Hugh

Hi Hugh,
You can count me in on the legislation seminar. Also Josh O'Connor, my
CFIT colleague. As I suggested the other day, I think it would be great
to organise a "meet the users" day in which people with disabilities and
assistive technologies demonstrate how they use computers and the Web
and talk about the problems they encounter. This could be followed by an
informal session in which attendees would be able to meet individual
users one-to-one and go through their own sites with them. I think this
would work well. CFIT can help to organise this and recruit suitable
users. I'll do some more thinking about it, discuss it with others in
here and get back to you with a more detailed idea for how it might
work.
If anyone else on the list has ideas on this or would be interested in
getting involved in organising and participating in such an event, let
us know.
Mark
