All,

I thought I would clarify a few points which arose yesterday.

Firstly, a sum of €3 million per annum for the period 2005-2009 is to be
made available by the Department which is a total of €15m over the 5 years
of this project. A sum of €6m for the period 2005/2006 is being made
available now (i.e. the first two years are being dealt with together).

Secondly, Mark asked a question about consortia. I have spoken to the
person who is dealing with this project and she has told me that the
funding will be prioritised to consortia or umbrella groups in order that
the effects would be felt at regional or national level. However, she has
said that that should not stop individual organisations from applying,
particularly if they can demonstrate the benefits to arise at a more global
level than just within their own organisation. It would be advisable if
this was the case to make sure that Q32 on the application form is paid
particular attention.
