Subject: [Irl-dean] seminar

Hi everyone,

Please find attached the agenda for the Irl-Dean seminar next week in DCU.
The agenda is also available online at http://www.design-for-all.ie, along with a link to a map and directions.

The theme of the seminar is "Procurement: a route to design for all?"
We have 2 speakers who will inform us about the implications of the EU directive, and the present requirements in the procurement process.

Derek Gaynor works for NUI Maynooth as the procurement officer, and carries out training in procurement for Achilles training.
Billy Noone works for the Department of Finance, and is extremely knowledgeable in the requirement of the EU directives for procurement.

Following on from this, Michael Clyne from Comhairle and Eoin Campbell from XML Workshop Ltd will be talking about the Assist Ireland project, where accessibility requirements were introduced into the procurement process, and how this worked in practice.

In the afternoon we need to finalise a response to the NDA's request for input into the new centre for excellence. We will examine what has been said on the mailing list, and finalise a response from Irl-Dean.

Please email me to let me know if you can attend.

All the best,

Hugh O'Neill
