Subject: [Irl-dean] learning about web accessibility and universal Design

Folks,
I was recently contacted by a gentleman with a disability who is interested
in learning about Universal Design in general and web accessibility in
particular with a view to working from home in this area. He has a
technical background in this area in manufacturing engineering and materials
management. As a first port of call I would recommend the following
resources:
Tutorials:
http://diveintoaccessibility.org/ by Mark Pilgrim - a good first tutorial to
read from beginning to end
http://webaim.org - lots of good tutorials and technical advice.

Guidelines and legislation
http://www.w3.org/WAI/ - WAI Homepage
http://accessIT.nda.ie - the Irish accessibility gudielines

Does anyone on the list know of any other good online course, tutorial or
introduction to web accessibility and/or Universal Design that may be of
interest to this person?

Regards,
Dónal Rice
