Hi Folks -

I had the pleasure of attending the AHEAD inaugural lecture given
by President Mary McAleese at UCD this morning.  It was a very
sincere and stimulating address.  I believe it will be made
available on the AHEAD website <http://www.aheadweb.org/> soon,
so you might want to watch out for it.

However, that's not what I wanted to mention! I also just
happened to notice some posters and flyers announcing the
candidacy of Tina Lowe for the upcoming Seanad elections to
represent the NUI constitutency.  (I'll spare you my rant about
the fact that only graduates of certain Irish Universities have
this opportunity!)  Tina will already be known to some of you,
but you can read more about her candidacy here:

So, for any of you who do happen to have a vote in this election,
I would just invite you to consider casting it in favour of Tina.

(NB: I have no connection, personal or professional, with Tina -
I am just impressed by her vision and enthusiasm.)
