Good point.

Do bear in mind the old saying by some eminent old wise guy/or gal,
though prob guy, due to context:

"A Battle is often won or lost before the first blow has been struck"

Maybe in this case it could be amended to be:

"A Battle is often won or lost before the first mail has been sent"
