Hi all
Just to let you know I am preparing a fun presentation for the kids in my
eldest son's class (7) on accessibility.
Gerry really impressed me last November talking about integration at school.
So I have made it on of my side goals to try to help.
I spoke to my son's school teacher, who does not know much about
accessibility. After explaining a few things, she was very interested. I
intend to bring a few characters such as Captain Hook, unless I find a more
modern version from Cartoon Network. Also I want to explain that to every
problem there is a solution, and maybe show the difficulties a left handed
and a right handed pupils could have if they are sitting the wrong way round
(my son is left handed). How the web could help differently abled people,
and demos of text readers.
If you have some ideas of things (or useful links) that could illustrate
accessibility to 7 years old, I am interested.
I won't be doing the presentation to the class until November, and I'll keep
you posted of the outcome. You never know, the school might get more
differently abled pupils (I have not seen many yet).
Barry, Hugh (or anyone else as it goes) do you know of a Belgian equivalent
to IRL Dean?
Best regards
