Hi all,
In conjunction with the Irish Computer Society, I am proud to announce
details of the first lunchtime seminar on accessible information
technology
to be hosted by VICS.
The seminar will take place on Monday February 4th 2008 from 12:00 pm
until
2:00, at the offices of the Irish Computer Society on Mount Street
Crescent,
Dublin 2. The theme will be "Design for all - the Benefits for your
Business".
Confirmed speakers on the day are Ger Craddock - Chief Officer of the
newly
launched Centre for Universal Design in the NDA, and Adrian McMahon -
head
of web accessibility operations at Segala (a company specialising in web
accessibility). Presentations will be followed by a practical
demonstration
of how accessible (and inaccessible) websites are viewed by those of
us who
are blind / visually impaired.
Attendance and lunch is free to VICS members, so if any of you are at a
loose end on Feb 4th, then please do come along.
Feel free to forward details to friends / colleagues whom you feel
may be
interested.
Hope to see some of you there.
Ciaran
