ICTs - Call for Consultation on the Proposal for European Masters in ICTs Design for All (Deadline: 24 April 2008)
Dear Members,
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) are increasingly part of the everyday life and are gateways to education, training and leisure. If designed to be accessible for everyone, they represent opportunities of inclusion in the Information Society for older and disabled people. As the need for Design for All or universal designed ICTs is crucial, the European Commission, the digital technology industries representing by EICTA as well as the user's representative groups, Age and EDF, asked for the creation of European masters in Design for All ICTs.
Five European universities, members of the DfA at eInclusion project, responded to that request. They set up a proposal of a teaching program piloting in collaboration and aiming at providing up-to-date knowledge on how to design ICT equipment which complies with Design for All principles. In the draft for consideration, the reasons of such a creation, the objectives, the functioning, structure and content of the program are described. Could you please give your views on it by Thursday 24 April 2008?
