[CEUD-ICT] Legal status of government / education website accessibility in Ireland

Hi there,
Someone in TCD told me that they attended the AHEAD
(www.ahead.ie) conference last week,
and thought they heard that in Ireland, there is
a legal requirement for websites to be accessible.

He was unsure of the context, such as whether it meant
just education sites, government sites, or all sites.

My understanding is that there is no such requirement,
at least in the Disability Act 2005, the Equal Status Acts,
or Employment Equality Acts.

I did a quick scan of the "Education for Persons with
Special Educational Needs Act 2004"
and didn't find 'electronic' or 'web' within it, so I suspect
it does not force compliance either.

Can anyone definitively state the situation at present?
