Hi Folks,
the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design has for 2010 taken on the
role of Secretariat for the EDeAN network. For those of you who might not
be familiar with it, the European Design for All e-Accessibiltiy Network is
a European network of 160 organisations in European Union member
states.[1] The goal of the network is to support all citizens' access to
the Information Society.
Ireland is a long-standing member of EDeAN. While CEUD is the so-called
National Contact Centre for Ireland, some members of this mailing list are
members of EDeAN in their own right.
One of my duties is to coordinate a quarterly newsletter of what's going on
in member states in this space.
I suggest I use this as an opportunity to not only feedback to you all on
the list what is happening with other EDeAN members in Europe, but also to
coordinate a mini-digest of our own.
So if you are planning anything in this space in the next 3 months or have
anything to report for the last 3, please let us know. We will coordinate
everything we receive into a single posting to the CEUD-ICT mailing list.
It doesn't matter how big or small - could be a lecture you gave to class,
a new European project you've just launched or a new piece of commercial
work (so long as you're entitled to share the info). It could even be
reference to an interesting article you would like to share...
To avoid a deluge of traffic to this list, please email your info directly
to my colleague Linda Rowan at lbrowan at nda.ie. As I said we will organise
this into one posting on the list to be sent out in the next couple of
weeks along with a separate posting of what's happening other EDeAN
members. So we're looking at about 2 extra posting to list every quarter
- not too taxing.
Does this sound OK? I look forward to hearing and sharing what you're all
up to!
Regards,
Dónal.
