[CEUD-ICT] Cooper's redesigned website

Hi,

This is a company who's mission seems to be to inovate and design
products with simplicity of use at their core.

If they had done this as an experiment, then I could understand it, but its
obviously for real as the site is live to everybody.

Seems to me that they have lost sight of their core values.

Tim

It's different. First look gives me a lot of problems. The text can't be
resized without zooming the whole thing. When I do try to change the text
size (something I do frequently), it loses where I am and shows me either a
blank 'page' or one with a sliver of the 'home' page against the right edge
of the window. I can scroll horizontally to reach other 'pages', although
there are no scrollbars so I couldn't do it without mouse gestures.

The website appears to be constructed as one huge flat space containing
multiple fixed-size pages arranged in a grid. One consequence of this is
that how much of a page you see and how much of the surrounding pages
(above, below, left and right) you also see is dependent on the size of your
window and your zoom setting. If your window is bigger than a zoomed page,
you don't see it all. If it is smaller, you see the edges of the surrounding
pages as well, which I find incredibly distracting.

I've not looked at it for long but I can see a couple of other accessibility
issues. The main navigation links and some of the body text have very low
contrast against the background (luminosity ratio in the region of 1.4:1 for
main navigation). The links don't highlight on keyboard focus. Generally,
tabbing around the page is a weird experience altogether.

It would take some getting used to at least.
