[CEUD-ICT] RTÉ Audience Council

Hi,

As some of you might have seen (or heard) on the RTÉ 6.01 TV News last night, I can now tell people that I have been appointed to their Audience Council. For information on what this is about, see

The  first meeting was yesterday. I took that opportunity to point out that it is not acceptable that the spec for digital TV receivers says that the ability to receive Audio Description is not manditory. I plan to follow this up with the new Broadcasting Authority and RTENL which is fully owned by RTé and is developing the standards. I have already spoken with members of the TVAccess group with the aim of presenting a united front on this and similar issues.

I hope that the CEUD web site is one of the places that I can pick up on issues to bring to the Audience Council over the next few years.
