Hi,

It seems to have passed almost un-noticed that Ireland formally ratified the
UN convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on March 20
and it entered into force in Ireland yesterday, April 19.

This is far from the end of the story or the end to the struggle for those
of us with disabilities, but it is an important milestone.

Every country in the EU and the EU itself in its own right have now ratified
the CRPD. 177 countries or groupings like the EU have now ratified.

See details on date of signature, date of ratification and list of
reservations and declarations at:
https://treaties.un.org/Pages/ViewDetails.aspx?src=TREATY&mtdsg_no=IV-15&cha
pter=4&clang=_en

Take care,

Gerry Ellis

If you don't know where you're going,
How will you know when you get there?
